Comprehensive dyslexia evaluation and structured literacy tutoring grounded in 30+ years of expertise and the Science of Literacy.
Many schools rely on reading programs that teach phonics in isolation while ignoring the other half of literacy: writing. Forty percent of students need explicit, systematic instruction that most programs simply don't provide.
Programs marketed as “aligned to the Science of Reading” often neglect morphology, syntax, semantics, and writing altogether. The result? Children plateau, lose confidence, and fall further behind.
“When students struggle and fail to make progress, the problem is not a deficit within the student—it’s a failure of the instructional methodology being used.”
The Science of Literacy integrates reading AND writing as two sides of the same coin. Backed by 40+ years of research, this approach includes all six essential components that struggling readers actually need:
Founder & Literacy Specialist • Master’s in Speech Pathology
As someone who is dyslexic and dysgraphic herself, Enid doesn’t just understand the research—she’s lived it. She knows what it feels like to struggle with reading and writing, and she learns the same way her students do. That personal understanding fuels her 30+ year mission to make sure every child gets instruction that matches how their brain actually develops literacy skills.
Enid specializes in dyslexia, autism, comprehensive structured literacy with an emphasis in writing, and IEP advocacy. Her philosophy is simple—there are no “broken” kids, only incomplete instruction. She believes that more than 90% of students could learn to read and write proficiently if given methods grounded in the Science of Literacy. Every child is capable. Every child is brilliant.
Known by families as their “Fierce Angel,” Enid fights for ambitious goals, evidence-based intervention, and the belief that a diagnosis should never determine a child’s ceiling.
“It’s the instruction, not the student.”

Why writing strengthens reading from the inside out
The specific strokes required to form letters by hand strengthen the neurological pathways for letter recognition.
Writing by hand forces the brain to process letters and words more deeply than typing or just looking at them.
The physical “feeling” of forming a ‘b’ vs. a ‘d’ helps prevent common letter reversals that frustrate young readers.
When letter formation becomes automatic, cognitive resources are freed for higher-level thinking—comprehension, vocabulary, composition.
The hand-eye-brain connection strengthens visual memory for spelling patterns through kinesthetic reinforcement.
Legible handwriting allows students to share their thinking with the world. Confidence changes everything.
“When we write by hand, we activate multiple regions of the brain associated with thinking, memory, and motor skills. Handwriting plays a powerful role in engaging the brain and enhancing learning.”
Measurable progress through evidence-based methods
Reduction in writing time—from 50 minutes for 4 sentences to 10 minutes of independent writing
More effective phonemic awareness instruction when taught with letters vs. oral-only drills
Of students could learn to read and write proficiently with methods grounded in the Science of Literacy
Improvement in sentence fluency through integrated grammar-and-writing instruction (Saddler & Graham, 2007)
